INTRODUCTION
On 1 April 2008 the newly founded and independent Tourism Enterprise
Partnership (TEP) officially took over the management of a seven
year old economic development programme (previously known as Tourism
Enterprise Programme) facilitating the growth and development of
small and medium-sized tourism businesses in South Africa.
TEP is the operating entity for a Section 21 (not for profit)
Company with a prominent board of directors and a small but nimble
management team who delivers innovative leadership in tourism development
projects.
Each year TEP invests millions in the development of small and
medium tourism businesses across South Africa. This is achieved
through various projects aimed at product development (skills development,
access to finance, operational efficiency, quality and service improvement,
etc.) and increased provision of market access.
TEP's Vision: "to be the premier tourism small business
development partner in South Africa"
TEP's Mission: "to facilitate the growth, development
and sustainability of tourism enterprises to become internationally
competitive"
TEP's Values:
- Inspirational leadership
- Exceeding expectations
- Total quality delivery
- An entrepreneurial spirit
- Responsible tourism focus
